Letter from the Deputy Director

As the Director of SETA Children and Family Services, I take great pride in sharing the 2022-2023 Annual Report.

Sacramento County Head Start/Early Head Start programs have been dedicated to providing the highest quality comprehensive services since 1981. A commitment to excellence in child development, school readiness, health, nutrition, mental health, and family support services has endured even amongst the numerous changes over the last few years.

As we reflect on the 2022-2023 program year, we are especially proud of all the Head Start staff for ensuring the mission of the program through commitment, passion, and dedication. Their hard work was evident in a very successful Federal Review by the Office of Head Start. In addition to our dedicated staff, our greatest strengths are our shared resources and allied partnerships within the community and with families, Parent Advisory Committee, Policy Council, and Board Members.

It is through these high-quality collaborations that Sacramento County Head Start and Early Head Start programs are able to implement standards that ensure infants and toddlers are ready for preschool, preschoolers are ready for kindergarten and families are supported with lifelong skills that lead to their child’s success in life and school.
